Sarah Brandon is a miracle worker and my angel!
In 2022, after losing my two beloved aging cats, I adopted two three month old brothers, Jaden and Zayne.
All was well until my ceiling collapsed which traumatized my boys and within a matter of seconds, Zayne brutally attacked Jaden. Within a few weeks, Jaden began having bladder spasms; hence, countless visits to veterinarians, animal hospitals and countless medical prescriptions.
I was instructed to seperate the cats with Jaden living in my bedroom and Zayne residing in my living and dining area. Living in NYC, there is limited space in an apartment. The situation became so dire that it was suggested by both professionals and friends that I rehome one of the cats. Being an optimist and needless to say loving both of my boys, this was out of the question.
I tried everything from hiring several cat behavior specialists (I even reached out to Jackson Galaxy), medications, contraptions, defuser's and lived like a prisoner in my own apartment but to no avail. I was forced to enter my bedroom by moving a gate and separating my free time between rooms.
I finally contacted Canna Companion as I had formerly been a client regarding my older animals. I spoke with one of the kindly representatives who remembered me from my numerous past orders. Upon sharing my dilemma, he suggested a phone appointment with Sarah. What did I have to lose after a year of trying everything I could think of?
From the very moment I spoke with Sarah I instinctively knew that my prayers had been answered and for the first time I heard my long anticipated magic words "we can reunite these cats!"
It took many months of patience! Sarah checked in with me every week for progress reports and we took it one step at a time. Aside from her vast expertise regarding animal behavior she is a brilliant veterinarian. After reviewing Jaden's medications and behavior patterns she switched him to medications which put an end to hospital visits. She clarified calming medication for both cats but added Chinese herbs.
At the moment they are medication free and back to playing, chasing and cuddling together!
I can't recommend this wonderful caring person and veterinarian highly enough!

​​Dr. Brandon has been my most trusted vet since 2009 (when I first met her at Cats Exclusive after my cat Mabel started having seizures) and the expert I always consult with even more than a decade after moving to a different state. Throughout the years, she has treated all of my kitties with an incredible depth of knowledge, compassion and thoroughness to come up with the best course of action for their various illnesses, always keeping quality of life top of mind. What’s more, she’s also very patient with pet parents who may come to her with a litany of questions (hi, that’s me!), always taking the time to answer and explain everything in detail. I also very much appreciate Dr. Brandon’s honesty with difficult topics, whether it be about expensive tests and treatments that may or may not help, or if it’s time to discuss end of life plans.
I believe that with her guidance and her combination of Western medicine with herbal treatments, my cats have lived longer, healthier, happier lives than they might have had otherwise. My proof? I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Brandon for both of my dogs, each whom had a very different needs at different times in their lives. Dr. Brandon took the time to understand Sunny’s and Buddy’s situations, gathering a thorough history and empathizing with my worries and concerns. While on the phone and in her consultation report, she shared an abundance of knowledge and suggestions, and provided data and science to support her thoughts. Dr. Brandon ensured that there was close follow up through my journey with my dogs’ health concerns, and she adapted and made new suggestions along the way.
As a healthcare provider myself, I truly appreciate the amount of time and attention to detail that Dr. Brandon and her colleagues have put into caring for pets and their parents.
